Roger C. Koch, 82, of West Salem, died early Saturday morning, June 10, 2017 at Smithville-Western Care Center following a period of declining health.
Roger was born Feb. 1, 1935 in Westlake to the late Carl and Helen (Albers) Koch and was a 1953 graduate of Northwestern High School. He served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard from 1957 – 1962 and was a life long farmer having operate the family farm with his brother and family near West Salem. Roger was a member of the Canaan Lutheran Church, the State and National Holstein Assoc. and the Wayne County Farm Bureau and enjoyed playing cards, reading, his cat and following the Cleveland Indians.
Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Ellen Koch of West Salem; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Bill Moss of Smithville; nieces and nephews, Deborah and Frank Sapper, Bruce and Cheryl Koch, Randy and Kim Koch, Nancy and Jon Winkler, Stephanie and Jake Trzop and Greg and Kristen Moss; 9 great nieces and nephews and 6 great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Larry.
