Rodney Eugene Stackhouse, Sr.

Rodney Eugene Stackhouse, Sr., 62, of Creston, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Wooster Community Hospital.

He was born April 12, 1958 in Wooster to the late Lewis Jack and Angeline (Sampsel) Stackhouse and married Laura Jean Prentiss on Nov. 3, 1980.  Laura preceded him in death on July 16, 2017.  Rodney loved working and driving truck and he retired from Grout Systems, Inc. with over 25 years of service.  He was a member of Operators Local 18, and he enjoyed 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing and drinking coffee.  He had made his home in Creston since 2007.

Surviving are his two sons, Rodney (Jennie) Stackhouse, Jr. and Jason (Amanda) Stackhouse; many other  kids that her considered his own; sisters and brothers, Brenda Elliott, Bill Sampsel, Lewis Stackhouse, Jackie (David) Shoemaker and Chuck Elliott and nieces Rainelle “Rae” Elliott and Angela Elliott.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, David Stackhouse in 2020, his parents and a brother-in-law, Elmer Elliott.

Friends may call Friday, March 12th from 4-8 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.  Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 13th at 12:00 noon at Wooster Cemetery.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
