Robert Carl Begert

Robert Carl Begert, 74, of Creston, died Sunday, March 8, 2020 after suffering a heart attack at home.

Bob was born April 25, 1945 in Lodi to the late Carl I. and Lois Eileen “Mickey” (Winger) Begert and was a 1963 graduate of Norwayne High School.  He attended Malone College prior to entering the U.S. Air Force on April 27, 1966.  A veteran of the Vietnam War, Bob was honorably discharged on April 24, 1970.  He retired from Pierre’s Ice Cream in Cleveland and had made his home in Creston having resided in Miami, FL for 25 years.  Bob was member of the Creston Moose Lodge and enjoyed reading, music, attending auctions and restoring furniture.  He also loved watching college football, NASCAR racing and motor cross racing.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl VanDyke-Begert who he married on Dec.  18, 2010; his son, Carl, his daughter Angela and 3 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Edward and Larry.

Bob will be interred at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery and will be announced when services are able to be held.
