Raymond Milo Mcconahay

Raymond M. McConahay, 68, of Wooster, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016 at Akron City Hospital. Ray was born May 19, 1948 in Wooster to Russell and Laura Marie (Young) McConahay and was a 1967 graduate of Northwestern High School. On Aug. 11, 1974 he married the former Cheryl Imhoff and she survives. He retired from Sterling Farm Equipment after 16 years of service and had previously been self employed as a hoof trimmer and engaged in farmer. Ray enjoyed playing cards and played at the YMCA and at the Wooster Community Center. He also enjoyed antique tractors and the antique plow days. Surviving are his wife, Cheryl; children, Stan (Stacey) McConahay of West Salem, Brian (Melissa) McConahay of Orrville, Kevin (Christy) McConahay of West Salem, Charlene (David) Howman of Wooster and Keith McConahay of the home; 11 grandchildren, Sasha, Sydney, Savannah, Shiloh, Cheyenne, James, Brandy, Colton and Mackenzie McConahay and Baily and Trevor Howman; his mother, Laura McConahay of Wooster; sisters and brothers, Gaye (Dennis) Hartwig of New Jersey, Jim McConahay of Wooster, Scott (Laura) McConahay of Lodi, Dawn (Jeff) Waggy, Paul (Tina) McConahay and Bea (Tom) Nadlin all of Wooster and Jill (Gino) Desimone of Shreve and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Services will be Sunday, Dec. 11th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where friends may call Saturday from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
