Randy E. Tanner, 68, of Creston, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 after a brief illness.
He was born in Chloe, WV on March 17, 1950 to the late James Hunter and Mary Lee (McCune) Tanner and was named Randall Eugene. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 – 1969 and had made his home in the Creston and Sterling area most of his life. He met the former Jenivine Jackson on Aug. 26, 1986 and they spent nearly 32 years together and were married on May 3, 2008. Randy enjoyed fishing, planting and picking strawberries with his granddaughter and playing cards with his friends. He loved spending time with his family and friends and hanging with his son, Ronnie and brother, John. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife, Jenivine; children, Robert (Tonya) Tanner of Texas, Angela (Frank) Forie of West Salem, Christy (Peter) Muller of Creston, Jeffery Jackson of Creston and Ronnie McIe of the home; grandchildren, Frankie Forie, Selena Jackson, Jada Jackson, Jena Rodriquez, Jake Tanner, Jessie Tanner and Joey Tanner; his sister, Judy (David) Morgan of Rittman and brother, John (Beryl) Tanner of Rittman and nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Stanley, Ray and infant Roger and infant sister, Susie.
Services will be Friday, April 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Mike Sollars officiating. Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
