Phyllis Jean Sanders

Phyllis Jean Sanders, 79, of Wooster, died peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 at Brenn Field Nursing Home in Orrville following a lengthy battle with cancer. Phyllis was born July 24, 1937 in Hemlock Grove, Meigs, Co., Ohio to the late Wade O. and Edith (Randolph) Bing and married John Kenneth “Bud” Sanders on July 10, 1960. He survives. She had worked at Frito Lay in Wooster, Addressograph in Holmesville and at Perkins Pancake House in Wooster. She attended the Church of the Savior and enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie, flower gardening, doing home decorating and going to garage sales. Phyllis was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Surviving are her husband “Bud”; children, Debora and David Hackett of Smithville, Tammy and Barry Smail to Creston and Ray and Jennifer Sanders of Smithville; grandchildren, Brandon and Kelsea Smail and Isabel and Jered Sanders; a sister-in-law, Delores Bing Zelinsky of Columbia Station; nieces and nephews and a dear friend, Sue Burnette. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Elba, Lowell, Wilford, Virgil, Rex and Clair. Services will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastors Jerry and Brent Durham officiating. Burial will be in Newkirk Cemetery.
