Pearl L. Yoakem

Pearl L. Yoakem, 98, of Youngsville, NC and formerly of Rittman died Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at her home.

Pearl was born in Washington Court House on March 15, 1925 to Luther and Inez (Jones) Yoakem.  On Dec. 11, 1947 she married Roy E. Yoakem and he preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1990.  She had worked at Imperial Plastics and at Armstrong Turkey Farm and had made her home in Rittman most of her life moving to North Carolina 10 years ago.   Pearl loved Folk and Country Music and had been the President of the Patsy Cline Fan Club.  She enjoyed being outdoors, walking and raising horses and ponies.

Surviving are her children, Charles (Joyce) Yoakem of Rittman, Patrick (Stacy) Yoakem of Massillon and Dottie Bonn of Youngsville, NC; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, children, Mary in 1976, Homer “Buddy” in 2012 and Roy A. in 2018; 3 grandsons and a brother, Charles.

Services will be  Monday, June 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Mike Sollars officiating.  Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour prior to services.
