Norma Jean Hanna

Norma Jean Hanna, 82, of Fredericksburg, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 18, 2019 at Majora Lane Care Center after a brief illness.

Norma was born Jan. 10, 1937 in Millersburg to the late Harold Sr. and Margaret (Hasch) Hanna and was a 1954 graduate of Millersburg High School.  On Nov. 27, 1955 she married Gary Hugh Hanna and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1988.  Norma retired from the Alterations Dept. at Freedlanders in Wooster and had previously worked at Regal Ware.  She was a member of Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church and had been an avid bowler having bowled in various leagues over the years.  Norma was truly dedicated to her family and enjoyed telling others about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all their school and sporting accomplishment.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting and gardening and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Greg and Cheryl Hanna of Wadsworth, Sis and Ernie Donohue and Jeff and Mary Gail Hanna of Fredericksburg and Teri and Tracy Snyder of Dalton; grandchildren, Heather, Mandy, Mitch, Ea, Stacy, Kent, Ericka, Lindsey and Matt; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers, sister and their spouses, Jim and Lula Hanna, Tom and Pat Hanna, Gary and Janet Hanna, Judy and Jerry Tish and Bob and Taryn Hanna all of Millersburg; sister-in-law, Margarette Hanna of Shreve; many nieces, nephews and friends including special friend, Barb Mendenhall.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son-in-law, Clifford Fletcher;  grandsons, Tim and Josh; great-grandson, Aiden and brothers, Edward and Harold Jr. and her companion, Roy Plant.

Services will be Tuesday, Oct. 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jack McClelland officiating.  Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery.  Friends may call Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  Memorial contributions may be made to 266 N.
