Norma Jean Hamilton, 74, of Wooster passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe after a sudden illness.
Jean was born on Jan. 13, 1949 in Floyd County, KY to Richard and Virgie (Johnson) Hurt and had made her home in the area since 1965. Norma, as she was known by her co-workers, retired from Frito Lay in 2008 after 31 years of service and attended the Canaan Center Church of God. She loved gardening, sewing, feeding and watching the birds and taking pictures but her great joy was being with her grandkids.
Surviving are her children, Timothy “The Golden Child” Hamilton of Norton, Rhonda (Scott) Mickna of Wooster, Lisa (Shannon) Copley of Massillon and Donnie Copley of Burbank; grandchildren, Jonathon (Alix) Hamilton, Bradley (Mikyla) Mickna and Cody Mickna; great-granddaughter, Kinsley Jessica Hamilton; brothers and sister, Terry (Jan) Hurt, Jerry(Sue) Hurt and Debra Ann Short all of Weeksbury, KY; many nieces and nephews and her dear friend, Rick who the family wishes to thank for all the years of help and support he gave to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Ladene Little and a brother, Douglas Hurt.
Services will be Thursday, June 8th at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where friends may call Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m. A family burial service will be held at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at Adena Regional Medical Center for all they did for Jean following her heart attack on May 27th.
