Neva Jane (Phillips) Dehoff

July 23, 1952 — May 8, 2025

Wooster

Neva Jane Dehoff, 73, of Wooster, passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her after a long and bravely fought battle with Inclusion Body Myositis.

Neva was born on July 23, 1952 in Coshocton, OH to Wymar and Dessie (Hankins) Phillips. Before her diagnosis in 2017, Neva was an avid traveler and loved exploring new places. She loved riding bikes and camping with her husband, Lee Dehoff, whom she married January 17, 2004. Taking photographs of her many adventures she shared with her husband, Lee, was one of her favorite things to do. Neva loved collecting mementos from her many journeys; which included the country of Belize, the western United States, and Alaska. She was a fan of The Lion King, but Neva truly enjoyed spending time with friends and her family above all else and she especially loved being a great-grandma. She had the most genuine heart and she was always able to see the bright side of any situation even when she was in the final stages of her battle with IBM. She helped make the world a little brighter and she will be forever cherished and remembered by all who loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Lee Dehoff, daughters Tammy (Toby) Gore and Amy (Bill) Clough, six grandchildren; Dani (Justin) Patterson, Jerrod (Peggy) Gore, Kylie (Eric) Aubihl, Peighton (Garth) Lahna, Arianna Clough, and Jeremy Clough; nine great-grandchildren; Cash & Adley Duhamell, Annistyn Patterson, Crozby & Whitley Gore, Mila & Eli Aubihl, Payton Lahna, and Ariyah Turner. Neva is also survived by her sisters, Carolyn Saylor, Kathy Reigle, and Marla (Mike) Myers. Neva is preceded in death by her parents, Wymar & Dessie Phillips, her brother, Terry Phillips, her sister, Judy Park, and her infant son, Chad.

Neva’s family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to the wonderful nurses & staff at Hospice Life Care of Wooster for the kind and generous care they provided for Neva during the final battle against IBM.

Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, May 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Thursday, May 15th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to funeral services at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, OH with burial to follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, OH. The Myositis Foundation greatly helped Neva fight against Inclusion Body Myositis and Neva’s family asks that donations be made to the Myositis Foundation in honor of Neva and her courageous fight against IBM.
