Nelson J. Hostetler, 75, formerly of Fredericksburg, passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019 at Akron City Hospital after a period of declining health.

He was born June 27, 1944 in Tuscarawas Co. to the late Jonas and Lizzie (Miller) Hostetler and married Lizzie Ann Miller on March 28, 1968 and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Lizzie, he is survived by 6 children, Rachel Hostetler of Wooster, Wayne (Cathy) Hostetler of Glenmont, Susan Shelter and Laura (Charles Steele) Jackson both of Orrville, Luella (Ben) Gilbert of Medina and Naomi Hostetler of Wooster; 12 grandchildren; 1 step-granddaughter, 2 great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild; brothers, Sam Hostetler and Jonas Hostetler Jr. both of Wooster and sisters, Melinda Baum of Galion, Elma Troyer of Plain City and Dora Hostetler of Wooster.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, William Shetler; a son-in-law, Larry Jackson; sisters, Erma Franks, Polly Sender, Lizzie Ann Hostetler and Susan Mast and brothers, Noah, Mahlon, Eli and Abe Hostetler.

Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 30th at 9:00 a.m. at the Daniel Raber residence, 7495 James Rd., Wooster with Bishop Joe Hostetler officiating.  Burial will be in the Yoder Cemetery, Prairie Township.  Friends may call Sunday, (today) from 2-6 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.
