Nellie Jane Teter Thorne

Nellie Jane Teter Thorne, 82, of Wooster, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 at Danbury Woods in Wooster after a period of declining health.

Nellie was born Feb. 7, 1936 in Pickens, WV to the late Ottomore and Elsie (Peck) Bachman and married Hallen E. Teter on Dec. 25, 1953. He preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 2000 and she later married Franklin Thorne who passed away in 2009. She received her teaching degree from Kent State University and taught for 17 years at Brunswick City Schools. She had made her home in Wadsworth and in Frostproof, FL where she attended the Nazarene Church. Nellie was an avid reader, who enjoyed singing and taking walks.

Surviving are her children, Catherine (Dale) Followay of Canal Fulton, Karen (Tony) Hollingsworth of Wooster and Tracy (Beth Suppan) Teter of Rittman; a daughter-in-law, Robin Teter of Elkins, WV; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Betty Teter of Wooster. She was preceded in death by her husbands, a son, Wayne and 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Services will be Tuesday, Feb. 5th at 7:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Friends will be received from 6:00 until time of services at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Pickens Cemetery in Pickens, WV. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
