Nelda Mae Murphy August 26, 1926 - June 14, 2018 Obituary Nelda Mae Murphy, 91 of Creston, passed away Thursday morning June 14, 2018 at Summa Barberton Hospital. Nelda was born in Beallsville on August 26, 1926 to the late Samuel and Ada (Reed) Pittman. She married Robert Murphy on October 28, 1972 and he preceded her in death on August 15, 1992. She had operated a beauty salon in Steubenville and had mad sandwiches for Subway in Creston. She had lived in Creston for the past 20 years previously residing in Steubenville. She attended Canaan Freewill Baptist Church enjoyed shopping, being with her nieces and nephews and family “Get To Gathers” She is survived by sisters, Freda Ferguson, Shirley Gammell and Norma Pope all of Creston; a brother, Larry (Sue) Pittman of Portage Lakes and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by brothers, Vernon Pittman, Harley Pittman, Glen Pittman, Paul Pittman and Olen Pittman and sisters, Dessie Henthrone, Doris Maynard, Beulah Ferguson, and Erma Johnson. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 18th at 10:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where friends may call Sunday from 2-5p.m at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Steubenville, OH.
