Nancy Alice Aldrich

Nancy Alice Aldrich, 82, of Ashland, galloped off into the moonlight on Friday, Feb. 17, 2023.

Born in Medina on June 12, 1940, to Earl and Alice (Michaels) Belak, Nancy graduated from Medina High School in 1958.  On Sept. 7, 1964 she married Robert L. Aldrich and he preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 2015.  Nancy’s passion was horses.  Nancy had performed in the Carson and Barnes Circus and on the Rodeo Circuit as a trick rider.  She had worked as a groom for Harness Horses until 1979 when she went to work at Fannie Farmer’s in Norwalk.  She later worked at Thomas Creative Apparel in New London until retiring.  Having lived in New London, Greenwich and Ashland, Nancy was a member of the Ashland Church of Christ, had been a 4-H advisor and was a member of the Paint & Plain Horse Club.  She was a devoted and loving grandmother.

Surviving are her children, Robert (Amy) Aldrich of New London and Mary (Andrew) Dorrell of Ashland; step-children, Terry Aldrich of Fremont and Dianna Vollberg of East Liverpool;  grandchildren, Emma Dorrell, Matthew Dorrell, Alice Dorrell, Jonathan Aldrich and Michael Cottrell; sister, Linda (Dan) Wuthrich of Homerville and brothers, David Stiles of Tennessee,, Mark Stiles of Florida and Adam Stiles of Missouri.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, Feb. 21st at 1:00 p.m. at Poe Cemetery in Montville Township with Tim Knowlyn officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.  Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
