Myers Eugene "Gene" Palmer

Myers Eugene “Gene” Palmer, 89 of Creston, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Burbank Parke Care Center.

Gene was born on Oct. 12, 1935, in Bellaire, OH to William and Estella (Shaw) Palmer and married Deloris Mae Jeffers on June 24, 1953.  Deloris preceded him in death on Feb. 10, 2024. He had worked at Morton Salt and for Metro Housing and had also operated Gene’s Sleepy Owl in Rittman from 1975 – 1985.

Surviving are his children and their spouses, Dale (Carol) Palmer and Douglas (Blenda) Palmer of Sterling, Debbie (John) Bowman of Burbank and Dean (Lois) Palmer of Creston; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren and a brother, Russell Dale (Karen) Palmer of Cary, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris, his parents, brothers, William and Carl, sister, Betty Jeffers and son-in-law, John Bowman.

At Gene’s request, there will be no services. He will be buried with Deloris at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.
