Mike was a member of the NRA and the Apple Peelers Enthusiasts Society. He was formerly a longtime member of the Seville Historical Society, and the local coffee group that met for breakfast at what was known as Heritage Way Restaurant. Mike is also remembered for his many years of playing softball in the Akron Silver League, and he had played well into his 70’s. Pinochle games at the Wadsworth Senior Center were a weekly event which he enjoyed as well, even during his illness.
In addition to his wife Linda, Mike is survived by his sisters Mary Ann Richmond and Barbara Burwick, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Many thanks to all of Mike’s and Linda’s friends and neighbors who have been so very attentive and helpful throughout Mike’s illness, and who have continued to be so even after his passing.
A private interment will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery since Mike’s wishes were to not have calling hours or a service. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Medina SPCA, 8790 Guilford Rd, Seville, Ohio 44273 or to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Rd, Wooster, Ohio 44691.
