Michael Martin Grant

June 25, 1930 — February 7, 2024

Sarahsville

Michael Martin Grant, 93, of Sarahsville and formerly of Chippewa Lake, was called home on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024 after a period of declining health.

He was born in Normalville, PA on June 25, 1930 to Michael M. and Inez (Ritenour) Grant and served in the U.S. Air Force from Dec, 26, 1947 – Jan, 4, 1952.   In Sept. 1954 he married Shirley M. Snyder who passed away on July 19, 1981.  Mike later married Elnora Ratcliff and she preceded him in death on Jan. 2, 2022.  He retired from the Chevy Plant in Parma and had made his home in Sarahsville for nearly 30 years.  He loved the outdoors and had enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and hiking.

Surviving are his children and their spouses, Debbie and Gary Harter of Wadsworth, Brenda and Charles Fritz of West Salem, Mark Grant of Sarahsville and Dave and Lara Grant of Creston; 6 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and step-sons, James, John and Joe Ratcliff and their families.

He was preceded in death by his wives and 5 brothers and 4 sisters, John, Tony, Tom, Kenneth, Charles, Virginia, Verda, Casey and Mary.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Feb. 17th from 3-5 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 114 Church St., Lodi, OH where Rev. L. David Dake will conduct services at 5:00 p.m.  Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Monday, Feb. 19th at 10:45 a.m.  Procession will meet at Murray Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m.
