CRESTON - Matthew James McComas, 23, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017.
Born on October 7, 1993 in Wadsworth to Rev. Jim and Beth (Casteele) McComas, Matt grew up in Creston and was a graduate of Norwayne High School. Matt was a handsome, intelligent, polite and kind young man. He loved life and his family and friends. He was an avid tv watcher, car buff, history lover and always loved a good discussion on politics and current events.
He was a passionate Northeast Ohio sports fan, cheering on the Browns, Indians, Cavs and Ohio State Buckeyes. Matt grew up in and was a member of Canaan Free Will Baptist Church. Everyone that knew Matt loved him. He touched each of those he came in contact with. We are all better for having him in our lives for the short time God gave him to us and he will forever be in our hearts.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Jim and Beth McComas and brother Aaron of Nashville, TN, grandfather, James D. McComas of Creston; grandmother, Karen Logsdon of Lodi and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hester and Charley Casteele.
Services will Saturday, March 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church in Creston where friends may call Friday from 3-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.
