Matthew Aaron Coffey, age 51, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, at his home.
He was born on November 21, 1973, in Parma to Robert Coffey and Vicki (Briggs) Williams and attended Cloverleaf High School. Matt received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Akron.
Matt enjoyed working as an IT technician at the University of Akron and was passionate about brewing beer for Burkhardt Brewing Company and on his own time at home. He was an avid homesteader, hobby farmer, and motorcycle enthusiast. He loved driving around going on adventures in the eastern states with his loving companion, his dog Skadi.
Surviving are his four children, Roxana S. and husband James M. Rathbun, Mitchel S. Fisher, Victor D.J. Coffey, and Jillian I. Coffey; the mother of his children, Kimberly Hatten Coffey; his fiance, Cher Rudnitskas, his sister, Megan Coffey; and his brother, Dann Bonds.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vicki; brother, Devin Williams and his grandparents.
Friends and family are welcome to say goodbye on Saturday Aug. 16th from 2-4 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. A celebration of Matthew’s life will be held later. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
