Mary Ann (Schafrath) Stutz

Mary Ann Stutz, 83, of Creston, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022 at OSU Wexner Medical Center after a brief illness. Mary Ann was born in Wooster on Aug. 20, 1939 to Earl F. and Evelyn M. (Moritz) Schafrath and was a 1957 graduate of Norwayne High School.  On Nov. 23, 1961 she married Ronald R. Stutz and he preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 2021.  
She retired from Norwayne Local Schools where she had been the Middle School Secretary.  Maryanne committed her life to Jesus Christ when she was 53.  Her life was defined by her passionate love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her family. She loved gardening, garage sales, supporting her kids and grandkids in sports, attending Cross View Church in Orrville and volunteering for hospice ministries. Surviving are her children,  Thomas (Linda) Stutz of Magnolia, TX, Richard Stutz of Taylors, SC, Brian (Suzy) Stutz of Little River, SC and Kelly (Rick) May of Creston; 9 grandchildren, Joshua, Sierra and Josiah Stutz, Amber (Stephen) Mansfield, Brittany (Joshua) Gupton, Caleb and Daniel Stutz and Logan and Madison May; 3 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Aaron and Canaan Gupton; brothers, Joe (Miriam Schafrath of Seville, Jim (Sandy) Schafrath of Mineral City and Robert Schafrath of Wooster; a sister, Jean (Doug) Wright of Wadsworth and nieces and nephews. Service will be Friday, Dec. 16th At 10:30 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Sterling , Ohio with burial following at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the church. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling g arrangement
