Mary Maxwell Ling

Mary Maxwell Ling, 95, of Creston, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019 at home in Ocala, FL.

Mary was born in Wytheville, VA on August 18, 1923 to the late Jasper and Mattie (Safewright) Davidson. She married John Maxwell on Oct. 11, 1943 and he preceded her in death on June 8, 1971. She later married Donovan Ling who died on April 19, 2011. She retired from Lakewood Hospital where she had been a Supervisor in the Housekeeping Dept. and had made her home in Cleveland for 35 years prior to moving to the Creston area in 1987. She enjoyed her time in Ocala, Florida especially during the winter months and was a member of Canaan Free Will Baptist Church where she had served on the Hospitality Committee. She also enjoyed knitting.

Surviving are her sons, Dennis Maxwell of Ocala, FL and Barry (Shirley) Maxwell of Wadsworth; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, son, John Maxwell, Jr., daughter, Shirley Brewster and brothers, Eugene, Charlie, William, Steve, Robert and John and sisters, Virginia, Clara and Gussie.

Services will be Tuesday, Feb. 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church, 12723 Cleveland Rd., Creston with Pastor Mike Gladson officiating.
