Marjorie Ann “Marge” Rhoads, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at her home at Aspen Square at the Apostolic Christian Village after a period of declining health. Marge was born on April 7, 1944, on the family farm near Sterling to Alvin and Estella (Marty) Winkler and was a 1962 graduate of Norwayne High School. On June 29, 1963, she married William M. Rhoads and Bill preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 2022. Marge retired from Snyder Excavating in Wooster and had previously worked at First Federal Bank and at the OARDC in Wooster. Marge and Bill had moved to AuTrain, Michigan where they owned the AuTrain Grocery and Motel for seven years until returning back to Wayne County in 1987. Marge loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events and 4-H activities over the years. She was a member of the Smithville Apostolic Christian Church. Surviving are her daughter, Angie Chapman; son and daughter-n-law, Steve and Barb Rhoads; granddaughters and their husbands, Ellen and Alex Mosteller, Elizabeth and Markus Schlabach, Andrea and Nate Starcher and Grace and Tyler Howell; her grandson, Ben Rhoads; great-grandchildren, Will and Hayes Mosteller, Connor Schlabach and Charlie Starcher and one soon to be born; brother, Andrew Winkler; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Vernon Landis, Marilyn and Dale Uhler and Brenda and Vic Bauman; sisters-in-laws, Mary Jane Winkler, Flora Jane Winkler and Margie Winkler; Marge's Rhoads in-laws, Barbara Johnson, John and his wife Lee Rhoads, Terri Click and Karen and her husband Fred Shriner and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, brothers Glenn, Ellis, Kenneth, Virgil and his wife Dora, Ben and his wife Sandy, Stanley and Ricky Winkler and sister, Janet and her husband Darrel Indermuhle. Services will be Saturday, Oct. 4th at 10:30 a.m. at the Smithville Apostolic Christian Church with Ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be in the Apostolic Church Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aspen Square at the Apostolic Village, 10680 Steiner Rd., Rittman, OH 44270.
