Lottie Jeanette Hosfeld, 91, of Fredericksburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster.
Lottie was born on Jan. 14, 1933 in Greene County, PA to Arthur and Lillian (Miller) Bissett. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1952 and then from Aultman School of Nursing in 1955. On June 16,1956 she married Bernard F. Hosfeld and Bernie preceded her in death on July 23, 2015. Lottie worked as a nurse having worked at Apple Creek Developmental Center, Pomerene and Wooster Hospitals, the Wayne County Care Center and Smithville-Western Care Center. She had been a County Nurse having been the nurse at Southeast Local Schools and at several Amish Schools. She enjoyed fishing, watching and feeding the birds, baking, gardening and doing crafts. She loved her cat Peaches and she had made her home in Fredericksburg since 1956. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Surviving is her daughter, Cindy Arnette; grandsons and their wives, Bradly and Erica Arnette and Brett and Becky Arnette; great-grandchildren, Cohen, Brantley, Brenton and Lexi; sister, Rubby Garraway; brothers, Thomas and Lorraine Bissett and Norman and Martha “Sis” Bissett and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie; her son, Timothy Hosfeld in 2017; her parents; sisters, Carroll Wall and Loretta Crowe and infant brothers, Donald and Eugene.
Services will be Tuesday, Dec. 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Father Stephen Moran officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Church Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
