Lori Jean (Johnson) Gonzalez

Lori Jean Gonzalez, 68, of Medina and formerly of Creston, went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 18, 2023.

Lori was born on July 6, 1954 in Superior, WI to Lane Douglas and Jean Ella (Beecher) Johnson and graduated from Babbitt High School in Babbitt, Minnesota.  On June 18, 1977 she married the love of her life, Edgar A. Gonzalez and he survives.  Lori had worked as a welfare clerk in Hennepin Co., MN, as a Legal Secretary and a seamstress having operated her seamstress shop out of her home with her best friend, Robin.  Lori loved crocheting, doing needle point and was a woodworking fool.  She always had a home improvement project and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.  She was a member of Creston Community Church and she always had a passion for ministry to teenage youth.  She had made her home near Creston for 30 years prior to moving to Medina in 2017.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Edgar who she shared 46 years with having passed away on their anniversary; her five children and their spouses, Leslie and Jared Lance of Wooster, Sara and Blake Cox of Boston, MA, Anthony and Deana Gonzalez of Parma, Katie Massie of Medina and Hannah and James Webb of Creston; her 9 much loved grandchildren, Payton and Morgan Lance, Riley Cox, Ava and Jordan Gonzalez, Nevaeh and Anna Massie and Jack and Charles Webb;  former daughter-in-law, Rachel; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Terry Johnson and sister, Jackie Johnson of Virginia, MN and nieces, nephews and extended family members including Amy and Eric who spent much time with the family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Carolyn Busha and an infant brother, James.

Services will be Saturday, June 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Creston Community Church with Pastor Josh Chaffin officiating.  Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery with a luncheon following at the church.  Friends may call on Friday, June 23rd from 4-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.  Memorial contributions may be made to Creston Community Church, PO Box 380, Creston, OH 44217 for the Lori Gonzalez New Horizon Orphanage Project in LaCeiba, Honduras.
