Lois Patricia Pope

Lois Patricia Pope, 84, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday Dec. 8, 2024.

Lois was born on March 1, 1940 in Burbank to Harry and Pauline (Keener) Simcox and married Leonard A. Pope on June 29, 1957.  She had made her home in Orangeburg, SC for 20 years before moving to Mansfield in 2016.  Lois enjoyed making dolls and China painting.

Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Lonnie Russell of Mansfield; grandsons, Jacob M. and Andrew S. Pope; sisters, Beverly Pope of Medina, Carolyn Fitz of Cinnamon Lake and Marilyn (Jack) Benedict of Medina and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard on July 2, 2015, her son, Timothy Pope on July 1, 2008, her parents, a brother, William Simcox and a sister, Donna Kauf.

Services will be Thursday, Dec. 12th at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Mike Workmen officiating.  Burial will be in Burbank Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour prior to services.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
