Lois Ruth Baird

Lois Ruth Baird, 58, of Holmesville, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026.

Lois was born in Oak Hill, WV on Nov. 7, 1967, to Doris Byers Baughan and was raised by her grandparents, Herbert and Hazel Byers, She graduated from Mount Hope High School in 1986 and on July 4, 1991 married David A. Baird who survives. Lois loved gardening, taking care of her wiener dogs. and being with her family and she enjoyed watching the UFC.

Surviving is her husband, Dave; sons, RJ (Chelsie) Leaman, Drew Baird and Aaron Baird; grandson, Rory Scott Leaman, III, step-grandchildren, Collin Williams and Connor Krider; sisters and brothers, Norma Jean (Don) McDaniels, Herbert Byers, Jr., Delilah (Dave) White, Cecil (Vickie) Byers, Herman Byers, Royal (Patricia) Byers, Donnie Byers, Robert Paul Byers, Lisa Baughan, Johnny (Karen) Baughan, Rita (Brian) Dawson and June Baughan; sister-in-law, Linda Byers and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Anthoy (Tony) Baird; her parents, Herbert and Hazel, her mother and step-father, Doris and Thomas Baughan; sister, Betty Baker and brother, Joe Byers.

Services will be Saturday, Oct. 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg where friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of services. Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Murray Funeral Home, PO Box 183, Fredericksburg, OH 44627 to help with Lois’s final expenses.
