Lloyd F. Marcum, age 93. Beloved husband of Marianne (nee Friedmann). Father of James (Jim) Marcum. Grandfather of Dylan and Mackenzie Marcum. Son of the late James and Bessie Marcum (nee Corns). Brother of Roberta Pittman (Starling), Elois Frybarger, Janet Damron, Carolyn Norris (Russ) and the late Albert Marcum, Charles Marcum, June Herald, Mary Prost, Virgil Marcum, Burgess Marcum, Alka Hines, Harold Marcum, Lowell Marcum, Robert Marcum, Bernard Marcum, and Vernon Marcum. Lloyd was born in Crum, West Virginia on December 10, 1930 and moved with his family to Creston, Ohio in 1943. Lloyd was a US Army Veteran from 1952–1954, and met his bride, Marianne, while stationed in Metz, France. Upon return to the states, Lloyd attended The College of Wooster and received a degree in both English and History. He then taught school for many years. He ended his working career with Western & Southern in 1986 and enjoyed a happy retirement with his wife, family, and friends. Lloyd was an avid gardener, woodworker, and artist and received many ribbons for his artwork at the Wayne County Fair. Lloyd passed away peacefully at home with his son by his side on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. His kind soul is his legacy.
