Lindsey B. “LB” Jarrell, 74, of Rittman, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital in Akron.
LB was born Oct. 25, 1941 in Ft. Gay, W.Va. to the late Ebby and Georgia (Lloyd) Jarrell and was a 1959 graduate of Ft. Gay High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962 – 1965 and following his discharge from the service married the former Stella Crum on May 22, 1965. She survives. He retired from Morton Salt in Rittman following 38 years of service and was a faithful member of Rittman Community Freewill Baptist Church. LB enjoyed fishing and hunting but his greatest moments in his life were spent with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Stella; his children, JoLenna (Michael) Case of Creston, Jacquie Jarrell of Rittman and Jeremy (Courtney) Jarrell of Sidney; grandchildren, Jennifer (James) Johnson, Elizabeth (Roy) Gass, Rebecca Case, Johnathan (Jackie Horn) Case, Ian Laughlin-Jarrell and Ivy Laughlin-Jarrell; great-grandchildren, Zachary Johnson, Lillian Gass and Evelyn Gass; brothers, Paul (Judy) Jarrell of South Point and Artie (Judy) Jarrell of Ft. Gay; Sister, Kathey Dillon of Huntington, W.Va. and a sister-in-law, Ileen Jarrell of Ft. Gay.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles.
Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Rittman Community Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. John Castle officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the church. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Rittman Community Freewill Baptist Church, 354 N. Main St., Rittman, OH 44270.
