Linda E. (Shetler) Hostetler

Linda E. (Shetler) Hostetler, 79, of Shreve, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare after a short illness.

Linda was born on Aug. 25, 1943 in Wayne County to the late John and Emma (Byler) Shetler and married Eli J. Hostetler on May 3, 1962.  Eli preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2019.  Linda loved the Lord and was a homemaker who loved to bake pies, garden and assemble puzzles.  On Sept. 13, 1970, her husband, Eli was ordained to the ministry and served many years as pastor of Bethany Conservative Mennonite Church.  Linda and Eli enjoyed traveling and had many friends.  They also enjoyed spending time at the winter home in Florida, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving is her 7 children and their spouses, Mary and Jason Coblentz of Dundee, Robert and Lisa Hostetler, Rosann and Jerry Troyer and Phil and Amy Hostetler all of Shreve,  John and Angie Hostetler of Fredericksburg , Ivan and Vi Hostetler of Millersburg and Christy and John Yoder of London, OH;  22 grandchildren;  13 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mahlon and Emma Shetler of Holmesville and Jacob and Linda Shetler of Maysville and sisters, Martha (Toby deceased) Hostetler of Fredericksburg and Katie Hostetler of Finger, TN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eli; her daughter, Emma, grandson, Colton Yoder, her parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Levi Hostetler and brother-in-law, Toby Hostetler.

Services will be Tuesday, May 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at New Life Fellowship Church, 8580 CR 245, Holmesville with the New Life Ministry officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Fellowship, 8580 CR 245, Holmesville, OH 44633 or to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691. Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.
