Linda Susan Lengacher, 70, of West Salem, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, at Hospice of the Westen Reserve in Medina with her family and close friends all around her.
Linda was born on Jan. 5, 1955, in Wooster to Gerald “Gary” and Marilyn (Wagner) Ramsier and was a 1973 graduate of Norwayne High School. She attended Miami of Ohio where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education and then her master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University. She later received her Doctor of Education from Northcentral University in Arizona. Linda was passionate about teaching and she began her teaching career at Burbank Elementary and then Wooster Christian School. She went on to higher education having taught at the College of Wooster and then at Stark State College in Early Childhood Education Development and Reading. She was a member of the Golden Key International Honors Society. On April 3, 1982, she married David Allen Lengacher and together they enjoyed several years of traveling across the country in Dave’s semi and in later years taking cruises and their annual trips at Christmas to Gatlinburg, TN. Linda had also operated out of her home while being a stay-at-home mom, Petal Perfect Flower Designs which she had turned her love of flowers into a profession. Linda was a member of Chippewa Church of the Brethren and an avid Brown’s fan. She will be remembered for her style and her appearance that was always perfect and for her love of her family, especially her granddaughter, “Cutiekins” who brought great joy to her the past two years.
Surviving is her husband, Dave; daughter and son-in-law, Breanne and Colton McCaskey of Norton; her granddaughter, AnnaLynn; sister, Debra Gasser of West Salem; brothers, Steven and his wife Marsha Ramsier of Tallahassee, FL and Gregg Ramsier of West Salem; nieces, Kara and Mike Seese and their sons, Gavin and Greyson and Leah and Eli Ramsier.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be Monday, Sept. 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Bill Eley officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Monday.
