Linda Sue (Mcvay) Spitler

Linda Sue Spitler, 71, of Wooster, Cancer Survivor, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at her home peacefully in her sleep. Linda was born on May 4, 1950 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Clarence and Minnie (Sizemore) McVay and married Cpl. Jerry R. Spitler on May 23, 1966.  Jerry was killed in Vietnam on July 12, 1967.  She had lived in Fredericksburg and the Coshocton County area before recently moving to Wooster.  She was a member of the Eagles Lodge #761 in Coshocton. Surviving are her sons, Gary Lee “Richie” Spitler of Wooster and Clarence Wilson McVay Spitler of San Diego; a grandson, Gavin Spitler; two sisters, Gloria “Tootsie” Weller of West Lafayette and Nancy Shifflett of Orrville several nieces, nephews and friends that were like her own kids including caregiver, Angela Johnston, and special friend Terry L. Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry and sisters, Vivian “Lannie” Degler and Vera McVay.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 6th at 3:00 p.m. at Fredericksburg East Cemetery.
