Linda Carol Flory

Linda C. Flory, 72, of Creston, passed away on Feb. 23, 2023 surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness.

Linda was born in Medina on Jan. 2, 1951 to Carl and Mary (Cvanciger) Neuman and was a 1969 graduate of Cloverleaf High School. On Sept. 26, 1971 she married Harold Flory and he preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2005.  Linda had worked at Competitive Swimwear and at the Creston Moose Lodge.  She served on the Creston Village Council for several terms and had been a dispatcher for the  Creston Police and Fire Department.  She was a lifetime member of the Wadsworth Eagles, a member of Creston Moose Lodge 1224 and organized the Harold Flory Easter Egg Hunt for many years. In 2016 was honored as a Creston Citizen of the Year for her service to the Creston Community. Linda enjoyed doing lawn work and gardening and she will be remembered for great sense of humor and her laugh.

Surviving are her two children, Karen Gorman and Jason Flory both of Creston; granddaughters, Nikkie and her husband Jordan Wincek and Ashley Gorman; great-granddaughters, Raelynn and Emmi; her 5 brothers, Paul Neuman of Ocala, FL, Jimmy Neuman of Seven Hills, OH, Lenny and his wife Sandy Neuman of Medina, Andy and his wife, Mary Lee Neuman of Mount Gilead and Chuck Neuman of Missouri; her special friend and companion, Michael Yeagley of Creston and her “Girl Friend”, Deb Crow as well as her adopted daughter, Kelly Maxwell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her parents and her son-in-law, Brian Gorman.

Services will be Thursday, March 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.  Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
