Lester Harvey Lovejoy, 71, of Burbank, went home to be with his friend Jesus on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster after a battle with lung and liver cancer.
He was born Oct. 20, 1945 in Midkiff, Lincoln Co., W.Va., to the late Ronald and Dessie (Adkins) Lovejoy and married Patricia Hatfield on Feb. 27, 1965. She survives. He had worked at Sharon Companies in Medina and Akron for over 30 years and was a Christian who loved God and lived for him. He was of the Baptist Faith and had played guitar and sang with the “Sweetland Trio” in churches. He loved his cats, especially his special little friends, Rachel and Louie.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia; son, Christopher Lovejoy of Lodi; brother, Roger (Sheila) Lovejoy of Medina, sisters, Carolyn Sue (Rev. Larry) Welch of Medina and Rosalee (Roger) Dempsey of West Salem and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Madeline Hatfield and a brother, Lineul Lovejoy.
Services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Revs. Paul Coblentz and Fred Combs officiating. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery, Branchland, W.Va., Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
