Leslie H. Scruggs

Leslie H. Scruggs, 73, of Creston, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at LifeCare Hospice after a lengthy illness.

Les was born March 8, 1945 in Richwood, WV to the late Charles and Mildred (Blake) Scruggs and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 - 1966. He married the former Shirley Marie Hale on April 18, 1969 and she survives. He retired from Ford Motor Plant in Brookpark where he was a member of U.A.W. Local #1250 and had made his home in Creston for the past 40 years. Les enjoyed hunting and fishing and attending auctions. His greatest enjoyment was his grandkids and great-grandkids and he will be greatly missed.

Surviving are is the love of his life and best friend, Shirley; his 3 children, Renea Ayers, Duane Ayers and Leslie (Tami) Scruggs all of Creston; grandchildren, Jessica (Tim) Pagniano, Autumn Ridenbaugh, Melissa Ayers, Matthew (Alissa) Gilt, Cody (Samantha) Scruggs and Chris Scruggs; great-grandchildren, Kamden, Madison, Marshall and Sage; brothers and sister, Charles (Pat) Scruggs of Orrville, Rick (Deb) Scruggs of Lakeville, Helen (Clark) Ervin of Richwood, WV and Mike (Lynn) Scruggs of Orrville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant grandson, D.J. and a sister, JoAnn Lester.

Services will be Wednesday, March 21st at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Paul Hale officiating. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com]
