Laura Ann Loew

Obituary

Laura A . Loew (nee Minch) was born on November 8, 1961 and passed away December 16, 2018 at her home in Medina, Ohio. After graduating summa cum laude from Kent State University with a bachelor of arts degree she entered the retail business. She then took a position of management in a large nursing placement service. In 1991 she followed her true interest and started Lost in the Past.com which enabled her to use her vast knowledge of long ago fashion and history.Laura delivered many programs at various Historical Societies in Ohio and many programs at libraries. She specialized in victorian and edwardian fashions and was asked by PBS in Cleveland to be interviewed on TV when they showed the Downtown Abbey series. In addition Laura was accredited by Mayo Clinic to conduct smoking cessation sessions to the business entities in and around Ohio. She helped many people to break the habit with her “Smash The Ash” presentations. Laura is survived by her parents Larry and Pat Minch of Cottonwood, Az and her sister Lisa O'Brien (Thomas) of San Jose, California. According to her wishes her remains were cremated and a private service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations in her name could be made to any animal shelter.
