Larry Lee Welch

The Reverend Larry Lee Welch, 79, of Medina, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family and his church family. They sang Larry into heaven's gates on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 after a period of declining health.

Larry was born in Akron on January 11, 1944, to the late Wilfred W. and Catherine (Johnson) Welch. He married Carolyn Sue Lovejoy on March 25, 1962 and they shared over 60 wonderful years together. Larry retired from MTD - Shiloh Industries after 25 years of service and had made his home in Medina most of his life. Larry had been an Evangelist for many years and enjoyed sharing the Gospel for most of his life. He loved people and he had served as Pastor at LaGrange Community Church and at Medina Union Mission Baptist Church. Larry was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and had taught his grandchildren to hunt and fish. He will be greatly missed.

Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Sue; his five children, Belinda K. Kindall of Chippewa Lake, David P. Welch of Columbus, Deanna D. (Bill) Kohl of West Salem, Tamera L. (Steve) Schoen of Medina and Stephen W. (Reneda) Welch of Hamlin, West Virginia; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Sheila (Roger) Lovejoy of Medina and sister-in-law, Darlene Welch of Jacksonville, Florida.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leslie 'Butch' Welch.

Services will be Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Freedom Baptist Church, 2161 Fixler Rd., Medina, with Pastor Matt Angle officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 Noon until time of services on Saturday at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements
