Kenneth Wayne Stahl, 86, of Creston, died peacefully on Monday morning, Nov. 28, 2016 at Altercare of Wadsworth after a brief illness.
Kenny was born Feb. 15, 1930 in Creston to the late Lester and Della (Peppard) Stahl and married Greta Vannoy on Dec. 24, 1954 and she survives. He was proud to be a Korean War Veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1948 – 1952 having served two of those years in Korea. He retired from the Crislip Corp. in Creston in 1992 and had made his home in Creston all of his life. He was a life member of Creston Moose Lodge 1224, was a member of Creston American Legion Post 497 and attended Creston-Canaan United Methodist Church. Kenny loved fishing and having fish fries for his family and friends who will miss him greatly.
Surviving are his wife, Greta; his 6 children; LaDonna (Carl) Pittman of Beallsville; Terry Stahl, Kim (Mark) Suppes, Rich (Becky) Stahl, Tommer (Lisa) Stahl and Taya (Aaron) Huth all of Creston; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren with one on the way; a sister, Gertrude Gorey of Burbank and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Arthur and Raymond Stahl and two infant brothers and sisters, Edith Henderson, Pauline Huffman, Katie Carver and Betty Balder.
Services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Deb Quillen and John Murray officiating. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
