Kenneth R. Orr, 95, of Apple Creek, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020 at West View Healthy Living in Wooster after a period of declining health.

Kenneth was born July 14, 1924 near Fredericksburg to the late Vinson and Mary Clarinda (Rayl) Orr and was a 1942 graduate of Fredericksburg High School.  He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II from March 1, 1945  - May 20, 1946 and on Sept. 22, 1946 he married the former Ruth Hahn.  Ruth preceded him in death on March 6, 2016.  Kenny  had been a farmer all of his life and was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Apple Creek where he held many offices and served on numerous committees. He had been the President of Producers Egg Auction, was a member of the Wayne Co. Farm Bureau and the East Union Grange and enjoyed square dancing and woodworking.

Surviving are his 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Susan Orr and Stanley Orr of Apple Creek and Lynn and Linda Orr of Fredericksburg; 5 grandchildren; Brian (Donya) Orr, Carrie (Bryan) McKelvey, Ben Orr, Diana (Mike) Taylor and Jared Orr and  5 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, Feb. 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Rev. Dale Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
