Kay Ronald Tyler, 92, of Creston, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 after a brief illness.
Kay was born Sept. 3, 1925 in Lake Fork, Ohio to the late Dwight W. and Ruth (Springer) Tyler. He marred Roberta M. Rugh on October 11, 1946 and Kay was married to his surviving wife for 71 years. He graduated from Creston High School in 1943 and worked with his Dad in their chicken and egg business and later in their gas station that they operated. Kay worked for Goodyear Aircraft and as a finishing carpenter and a contractor building homes. He was employed by Medina Auto Parts for 47 1/2 years and after retiring he worked for Pallotta Ford for 14 years. He had served on the Creston Fire Department for 13 years and was a lifetime member of the Creston-Canaan United Methodist Church. He enjoyed listening to inspirational music and was a car enthusiast, collecting and restoring antique and present day cars.
Kay is survived by his wife, Roberta; daughter, Jill LaCivita and her husband John; a son, Robert Tyler and a sister, Margaret Park. He was preceded in death by is parents and a sister, Jean Polchey.
Services will be Wednesday, Jan. 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Creston-Canaan United Methodist Church with Pastor Lori Burdette-Steele officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.
