Julia Alice Wiles, 84, of Wooster, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Dalton after a period of declining health.
Julie was born on Nov. 12, 1938 in Lodi to the late Lloyd Elden and Alice Elizabeth (Ferguson) Wiles and was a 1956 graduate of Norwayne High School. In 1986 she received her Associates Degree from Akron University and had worked at Rubbermaid, Inc. where she retired from. Julie played fast pitch softball for many years having first played for the Tri-City Cardinals in Dalton and later for Wooster Lumber Girls. She was an outdoors girl who enjoyed gardening, planting flowers around the house and fishing. She bowled and golfed on several bowling and golf leagues and enjoyed playing cards. She always loved the dogs she had over the years and she was a member of Sterling United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her brothers and sister and their spouses, Dick and Betty Jo Wiles of Sterling, Jim and Diane Wiles, Bob and Bev Wiles and Don and Sue Wiles all of Wooster, Joanne and Dave Gray of Victoria, TX and Fred and Deb Wiles of Sterling; 15 nieces and nephews, 35 great-nieces and nephews and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 30th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with her nephew, Pastor Bryan Wiles officiating. Burial will be in Canaan Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of services at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice.
