Joyce Lea (Nester) Smith

Joyce Lea Smith, 83, of Englewood, OH and formerly of Rittman, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, with loved ones at her side, after a lengthy illness.

Joyce was born on April 23, 1942, in Charleston, WV to Ezra and Virginia (Lilly) Nester.  She married John Morgan and was blessed with four children, Mike, Larry, Debbie and John. Living in the Rittman most of her life, she had made her home in Englewood for the past 8 years and was a member of Tipp City Church of Christ.  Joyce was a loving person who enjoyed cooking and had a green thumb.

She will be missed by her children and their spouses, Larry and Cindy Morgan of Burbank, Debbie and Bob Vincent of West Milton and John and Joan Morgan of Burbank; 8 grandchildren and their spouses, Stephanie and Braden Markevich, Cheyanne and Nathan Simon, Emily Morgan, Danielle and Joshua Wheeler, Katelyn Vincent, Caleb and Hannah Vincent, Joanna and Chris Hinton and Jacob and Emily Morgan; 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Betty and Mary and a brother, Jerry.

Joyce was preceded in death by her son Mike Morgan, granddaughter Sara Morgan, her parents and siblings, Margaret, Bill, Annie, Clara and two infants.

Services will be Thursday, Sept. 25th at 11:30 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Minister Bob Vincent officiating.  Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery.  Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m.
