Joyce Elaine Farnsworth

Joyce Elaine Farnsworth, 91, of Seville, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022 at the Apostolic Christian Home after a brief illness.

Joyce was born on Sept. 25, 1931 in Lodi to the late Myron and Mabel (Eaken) Barth and graduated from Lodi High School.  On Sept. 24, 1949 she married Roy M. Farnsworth and Roy preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 2018.  Joyce’s parents had operated the Medina County Home where she worked as the cook.  After her parents retired, Joyce became the Superintendent and operated the home for many years.

Joyce was an active member of the Seville United Methodist Church where she cooked and served many church dinners.  She was a member of T.O.P.S. and had been active in 4-H, having worked with horses on the family farm.  Joyce enjoyed crocheting, collecting glassware and taking trips to Amish Country.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Linda Farnsworth of Creston; daughters, Carol Carter of Seville and Lynn Remington of Lodi; 9 grandchildren, and  several great-grandchildren and  great-great-grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband,  a daughter, Elaine Stewart; brother, Max Barth and her friend and traveling companion, Gloria Sheppard.
