Joseph M. Segedi, 77 of Seville, Ohio passed away on Saturday afternoon, December 12, 2020 at Akron City Hospital. He was struggling this past year with declining health and as a result of Covid-19 he joined our Heavenly Father.
Joseph M. Segedi was born on April 2, 1943 to the late Searles & Betty Segedi and graduated in 1961 from John Marshall in Cleveland. He was a truck driver and retired from Emery Worldwide in Middleburg Heights.
Joe loved his family dearly and never stopped talking about them. He enjoyed watching sports, especially The Cleveland Browns & Cleveland Indians. While he never owned a horse, you can see how much he loved them because of the many statues and photos displayed throughout his home. Longing to win the lottery, we had to make sure he always had his lottery tickets. He took his spicy chili seriously and looked forward every year to the chili cookoff at church. Joe was a long-time member of Christ The King Lutheran Church in Lodi. Joe was very loved and will be deeply missed by many.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Searles & Betty (Sizer) Segedi, and his brother, Lou Segedi Joe is survived by his wife Joanne M. (Dukeman) Segedi, his 6 children: Melanie (Josh) Corrin of Akron, Greg McGlashan of Westfield, Thom McGlashan of Canal Fulton, Mark (Judy) Segedi of Valley City, Michele (Jimmy) Hjort of Medina, and Matthew (Melissa) Segedi of Butler, PA, and 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
No viewing or services will be held at Murray Funeral home in Creston. A recorded virtual service will be done by Pastor Cahill – Christ The King Lutheran Church and a link will be posted. We apologize that we are not able to have an in-person service due to Covid and illnesses within the family.
