Obituary:
Jonas J. Miller, 77, of 8384 Township Road 611, Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the home after a period of declining health.
He was born May 18, 1941 near Fredericksburg to the late John S. and Susan (Troyer) Miller and married Sara Ann Troyer on March 21, 1963. She survives. He was a retired woodworker and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving are his wife Sara Ann; children, Elsie (Eugene) Schmucker of Sugar Creek, Rebecca (David) Troyer of Shreve, Ruby Schlabach of South Carolina, Wayne (Marilyn) Miller of Sugar Creek, Jerry (Mary Ellen) Miller of Fredericksburg, Dorothy (Reuben) Miller of Holmesville, Nelson (Edna) Miller of Fredericksburg, Irene Slabaugh of Sugar Creek and Leon (Esther) Miller of Apple Creek; 39 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Sarah, Mattie, Anna and Ella Miller all of Fredericksburg and Mary Chupp of Apple Creek and 2 sisters-in-law, Fannie Miller of Sugar Creek and Anna Miller of Berlin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Eli, Joe, Mose and Yost.
Services will be Friday, July 13that 9:00 a.m. at the Nelson Miller residence, 8420 Township Road 611, Fredericksburg with Bishop Elmer Troyer officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the Nelson Miller residence. Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements. The family extends their deepest appreciation to the staff of LifeCare Hospice for their wonderful care and support given to Jonas and the Miller family during his time of illness.
