John M. Warner, 87, of The Villages of Florida, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 after a short battle with lung cancer.
John was born in Lodi, OH on June 19, 1935 and was the son of the late Charles and Martha (Richard) Warner. He graduated from Lodi High School where he had played football and basketball and he always enjoyed returning home for class reunions with classmates and friends. John served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 23, 1955 – Dec. 21, 1957 and had worked as a Gate Security Guard at the Villages of Florida.
Surviving is his wife, Diane; daughters, Kim (Nick) Post and Diane Compo both of New York; step-daughters, Pam Oliver and Tammy Oliver both of Florida; grandchildren, Jacklyn (Stephen) Pallas, Ryan Fitzgerald, Thomas Fitzgerald, Crystal Compo and Juliette Post; great-grandchildren, Liam, Owen and Nicholette; step-grandchildren, William, James, Troy and Kebera ; sisters and brothers, Mildred (Ken) Trigg of Ashland, Jane Grant of Seville, Eva (Rob) Betz of West Salem, Dixie (Mike) Nelson of Alliance and Michael Warner of Buffalo, NY and nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Michael Compo, a sister, Sandra Deming and a brother, Richard Warner.
Services will be held Saturday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.
