John Henry Vance, 73, formerly of Sterling, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at City View Heath Care and Rehabilitation Center in Cleveland.

He was born in Lincoln, WV on May 9, 1952 to Maxcil and Edar May (Adkins) Vance. He had made his home in West Salem for many years.

Surviving are his 3 children, Brandy Jo Vance of Medina, Matthew Vance and Tim Reed of Akron, John and Emily Vance of Brunswick; 2 grandchildren; brothers, Maxcil Vance and David Vance and sisters, Gladys Vance, Maxine Dobbins and Phyllis Riffle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Fred, Charlie, Larry and James and sisters Rose Vance and Dorsie Lloyd.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 27th at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends and family may gather at Murray Funeral Home at 11:00 for viewing and to process to the cemetery.
