John M. Shetler

John M. Shetler, 84, of 3758 Harrison Rd., Fredericksburg, Ohio passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at his home from Parkinson’s Disease and a heart related illness.

He was born in Wayne County on Feb. 2, 1940 to Mose M. and Amanda A. (Miller) Shetler.  On March 28, 1962 he married Miriam L. Gingerich and she survives.  John was a retired farmer and a member of the Amish Church.

Surviving is his wife, Miriam; his children, Linda (Dan) Shetler of Apple Creek and Andy (Susie) Shetler, Jacob (Barbara) Shetler and Enos (Leora) Shetler all of Fredericksburg; 32 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Andy Shetler and Mose Shetler of Fredericksburg and sisters, Mary Shetler and Lizzie Ann Shetler of Fredericksburg and Fannie (Henry) Miller of Wooster.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Dan, Levi, and Enos Shetler.

Services will be Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at the Jacob Shetler residence, 4090 Harrison Rd., Fredericksburg with Bishop Joe E. Hostetler officiating.  Burial will be in the Graber Road Cemetery.  Friends may call anytime after 10:00 a.m. on Sunday and on Monday at the Jacob Shetler residence.
