John Robert Rugani

John Robert Rugani, 94, of Wooster, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Rittman after a period of declining health.

John was born on March 2, 1932, in Waynesburg, OH to Angelo Albert and Eleanor (Bankert) Rugani. He graduated from Waynesburg High School and attended Ohio University. On March 3, 1956, he married Ora Kathryn Frary and she survives. John had worked at Freedlander’s in Wooster for 25 years and was a member of Wooster Mennonite Church.

Surviving is his wife, Ora; children, Diane and her husband Jeff Borah of Creston, Karen and her husband Tony Schrock of Ham Lake, MN; Paul Rugani of Wooster and Tania Rugani of Wooster; two grandchildren, Nathan Schrock and Katrina Schrock and her husband Andrew Olsen and a brother, James and his wife Mona Rugani of Evansville, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Catherine Rugani and Roberta Boggs.

A family graveside services will be held at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Murray Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
