John Edgar Metheney

John Edgar Metheney, 56, of Creston passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025 after a battle with cancer.

John was born on May 25, 1968 in Orrville to Richard and Kathleen (Marks) Metheney and had lived in Creston most of his life where he attended Norwayne High School.  He worked for North Gateway Tire as a tire technician and was a member of the Creston Moose Lodge.  John enjoyed hunting, turkey shoots and outdoor activities including playing horse shoes and golf.

Surviving is his sisters and brother, Brenda Watts of Rittman, Steve Metheny of Creston and Sarah (Shawn) Daivs of Creston and five nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Metheney and his mother, Kathleen Sohar.

Graveside services will be Saturday, April 5th at 2:00 p.m. at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home or to the gofundme account for John.
