“Big” John Lutsch made his final ride on 3/27/2026 following recent battle with cancer. He passed peacefully in his sleep one day shy of his 74th birthday.
John was born on March 28, 1952 and spent the majority of his life in Seville and Wooster. He contributed 33 years as a foundry worker in Orrville before transitioning to his passion of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and spending more time with his grandchildren in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He spent his free time participating in multiple hobbies including arrow-head hunting, motorcycling, fishing, writing, reading and gardening. John led a simple life being a dedicated father to his three sons and an even better friend to those close to him.
John was an elder member of his church and enjoyed volunteering his time to tend to its garden in addition to various other causes important to him such as the Minnesota Patriot Guard and donating blood to the American Red Cross. He was a very patient, articulate, thoughtful and caring man whom influenced his sons with his quiet, confident leadership; lessons that will certainly, like his memory, not be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Karen Lucas, his mother Dorothy Lutsch, father John Lutsch, grandmother Vienna Shumaker and uncle James Shumaker, M.D.. He will be missed by many including his three sons; Sean (Wife Nicole), Justin, Jerrin, his nephew Alan Blankenship and grandchildren Brendan, Noah, Abbie and Torin. Additionally, his dedication and loyalty to those he loved was exemplified by his 50+ year friendship to Hank Bowen and his family as well as close friends Barb and Kent Wolf.
Although being active in his community was a priority of John’s, he did not request a large memorial service and instead preferred those who wish to honor him do so by donating to the American Red Cross, Medina County District Library (mcdl.info/donate), or by patronage at Sparky’s of Seville.
John will not only be remembered by his deep voice, tattoos and 30-year dedication to his ponytail, but more so by his kind nature, story-telling and memorable laugh. Although he may have left us too soon, his memory will certainly forever remain. Rest in peace, Father, we love you.
There will be a gathering to toast John at Sparky’s of Seville on April 18th from 11:00 – 3:00pm.
